
Executive Director
David Francis, a New Orleans native, leads a team of dedicated and talented journalists and business people in a mission to uplift New Orleans through thoughtful and impactful journalism. As executive director, David strives to give voice to the underrepresented parts of the community and helps create an environment to improve the quality of life for all. He began working for Verite in July 2022 upon its launch as the nonprofit news organization’s first executive director.
He has a bachelor’s of science in management and an MBA with a concentration in accounting from Tulane University. He is a past board president of Louisiana Press Association, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation, Institute of Mental Hygiene and The Times-Picayune Doll and Toy Fund and Children’s Bureau. He is a current board member of Liberty Bank, WWOZ Radio and The Times-Picayune Doll and Toy Fund.
Before Verite, David held positions at Deloitte & Touché, CPA, Pepsi Cola, The Times-Picayune and NOLA Media Group.
